Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Bobby Wahl made his debut with the Oakland Athletics early in the 2017 season and made 7 relief appearances between May 3-May 23, at which point he went on the disabled list with a strained shoulder. After that, he only made a handful of rehabilitation appearances in the minor leagues. During his brief stint in the majors, he had no decisions and an ERA of 4.70 in 7 2/3 innings. He started 2018 in the minors and was 3-2, 2.27 in 34 games when on July 21st he was traded to the New York Mets along with IF Will Toffey and $1 million in international bonus money in return for closer Jeurys Familia. He went 0-1, 10.13 in 7 games for the Mets befoer a hamstring injury ended his season early.
On January 5, 2019, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers along with minor leaguers Adam Hill and Felix Valerio in return for OF Keon Broxton. However, on March 3rd, the Brewers announced that he had torn the ACL in his right knee and would require season-ending surgery. The injury had come while throwing a pitch in a Cactus League game against the Seattle Mariners and was an extremely rare one for a pitcher, with only two previous known instances having ever been documented in Major League Baseball's database of injuries sustained by players.
