Biographical Information[edit]
Bobby Hill hit .231/.375/.538 with two homers in seven games for Team USA in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, fielding .927 as their starting shortstop. Only Ryan Ludwick hit more homers for the US in the event. He stole 29 bases with the Iowa Cubs in 2002. That same year, he hit .327 as a right-hander with the Chicago Cubs - albeit in only 52 at-bats.
He was the top contact hitter in the Americas qualifier for the 2008 Olympics, hitting .522/.667/.739 with 7 runs and 7 RBI in 7 games. He topped runner-up Earl Agnoly by 51 points and outperformed top Team USA prospects like Kurt Suzuki, Billy Butler and Jarrod Saltalamacchia.
Hill was head coach at Los Gatos High School in 2012-2014 [1], then moved to Mission College [2] for 2015. He remained through 2023 then went to West Valley College.
