Biographical Information[edit]

Bobby Dews was a member of the Atlanta Braves organization for more than 30 years. He became the team's bullpen coach in 1979, then was third base coach in 1980 and 1981, under manager Bobby Cox. After managing in the minors for a few season, he returned as Atlanta's first base coach in 1985, then again in 1997, with Cox back at the helm. He moved to bullpen coach in 1999 and stayed on until the end of the 2006 season.

As a player, he was an infielder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization from 1960 to 1968. His father Bobby Dews Sr. was a minor league player for many years.
