Biographical Information

Suitcase Bob Seeds played for five major league teams in his nine year major league career, including twice with the Cleveland Indians. He was also purchased by the Detroit Tigers in 1935 and by the Philadelphia Phillies in 1941, but he spent no time in the majors with them. He appeared briefly in the 1936 World Series won by the New York Yankees for whom he played only 13 games in the regular season. He appeared in 100 games in a season only one time, in 1932, split between the Chicago White Sox and the Cleveland Indians.

With the Newark Bears in 1938, he hit 7 HR and had 17 RBI and 30 total bases in 2 days, May 6-7.

He was given the name "Suitcase Bob" by Bibb Falk because he moved around so much.

He played in the minors between 1926 and 1946, managing the Little Rock Travelers in 1944 and Amarillo Gold Sox in 1946.

After his major league days, Seeds owned and managed the Amarillo Gold Sox in 1946.
