Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Ramazzotti was a back-up infielder who played seven years in the majors with the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs.
Bob graduated from high school in 1936 and then played ball in the local city league until he was signed by the Dodgers. He made his debut in professional ball in 1940, but ended up serving in the military in World War II from 1942 to 1945.
He wasn't supposed to be in the majors in 1946 but Cookie Lavagetto got injured and later Eddie Stanky had an injury. While in the minors in 1947 he was seriously beaned. Later in his career he suffered a whole series of injuries.
His last season in the minors was in 1954.
After baseball he worked at a ball bearing factory.
