Biographical Information[edit]

Bob Kendrick is a Negro Leagues historian and current president of the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City, MO. He is known for having created many historical programs to remember the stars of the Negro Leagues and was inducted into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.

The museum regularly hosts players from major league teams who pass through Kansas City, and he is often mentioned for his role in turning the museum into a dynamic institution through innovative programs. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the museum shut down for what would have been the 100th anniversary of the league. In order to keep things alive, he started an online campaign called the "Tipping Your Cap" campaign during which various Major League Baseball Hall of Famers, athletes from other sports, musicians, four former U.S. presidents, and others created short videos of themselves giving tributes to the stars of the Negro Leagues.

Kendrick also appears in the MLB The Show video game series as the narrator of the Negro League storylines, where gamers can replay historical moments in Negro League history.
