MLB The Show is a baseball video game series developed by San Diego Studios. A new game has come out every year since 2006. The game features real major league and minor league rosters and teams. The game did not previously feature all-real minor leaguers until they got the rights to do so in 2023. It provides a realistic baseball experience, including franchise mode, where you can choose a team and serve as its general manager, or create your own custom team (a feature that was only added to franchise mode in 2020), Road to the Show mode, where you can create a custom player and get drafted and work your way up to the big leagues, Diamond Dynasty mode, where you collect digital baseball cards to make a team and earn cards by completing challenges (this mode has been available since 2012), and much more. In 2024, San Diego Studios announced that MLB The Show 24 will be the first game in the series to feature female players, with the addition of Toni Stone on the legend players list as well as the ability to create your own female players as well. MLB The Show has over 4 million players worldwide in 2024.
