Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Bob Hiegert spent two seasons in the Los Angeles Angels organization. He played for the San Jose Bees and Tri-City Angels in 1963 and moved up to the Quad City Angels in 1964.
Hiegert spent 18 seasons as the head coach of Cal St. Northridge. He lead the Matadors to two Division II College World Series titles in 1970 and 1984, 11 post season berths and six conference championships. He also served as the schools Athletic Director from 1978-1988.
Hiegert is currently the Commissioner of the California Collegiate Athletic Association. He has served as Commissioner since the 1997-1998 school year. Hiegert is a member of the CSUN Hall of Fame as well as that of the American Baseball Coaches Association.
