Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Chlupsa is the only major leaguer, through 2024, with a last name that starts "Chl". Bob, primarily a relief pitcher, had a record of 40-26 with a 3.17 ERA in the minors over seven seasons, and also pitched 15 games in the majors for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1970 and 1971, where he was ten years younger than teammate Bob Gibson and one year younger than teammate Steve Carlton.
Bob was also drafted by the NBA in 1967, the same year as Hall of Famer Walt Frazier [1].
