Biographical Information[edit]
Bob Carpenter has been a long-time MLB announcer.
Carpenter began his career in 1976 as the play-by-play man for the Tulsa Oilers. He then worked at USA Network, announcing pro golf, tennis, college football and college basketball; he covered the golf Masters and US Open in Tennis. Carpenter then worked for ESPN, covering baseball, college basketball and college football. He worked the 1998 AAA All-Star Game, 1999 AAA All-Star Game, 2001 AAA All-Star Game, 2002 AAA All-Star Game and 2003 AAA All-Star Game as well as MLB playoffs, NCAA Final Four and football bowl games. He then worked as the Washington Nationals play-by-play man for TV. He had also covered the Texas Rangers, New York Mets and Minnesota Twins.
