Biographical Information[edit]
Bo-myung Jeong was a 3B/RF in the Korea Baseball Organization and later was a coach.
Jeong was on the South Korean national team that won the Silver Medal at the 2001 Asian Championship. As the starting right fielder for South Korea in the 2002 World University Championship, he hit .333/.333/.444 with one run and three RBI in six games. He made his pro debut with the Lotte Giants in 2003, going 0 for 3 with a walk and a run, then missed two years due to mandatory military service. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, he hit .231/.353/.462 and fielded .800. He was 0 for 2 with a walk against Cuba's Danny Betancourt in the Gold Medal Game loss. Returning in 2006, he batted .247/.278/.309 in 66 games.
Becoming a starter for Lotte in 2007, he hit .282/.336/.373 with 24 doubles, tying Jung Choi and Yong-kyu Lee for 10th in the KBO in two-baggers. In 2009,. he produced at a .296/.364/.394 clip and tied for 8th with 10 times hit-by-pitch. His playing time fell after that. He hit .289/.353/.382 in 30 games in 2010, was 2 for 16 with two doubles, a walk, two runs and three RBI in 2011, 5 for 31 with 3 walks in 2012 and 3 for 19 with a double and four walks in 2013.
He retired as a player with a .271/.332/.359 batting line in 439 games and 1,189 AB, with 112 runs and 137 RBI. He coached for the Sangmu Phoenix in 2014-2015 and coached for South Korea when they won Gold at the 2015 Asian Championship. In 2016, he will be hitting coach of the Giants.
