Biographical Information[edit]
Bo Gilligan has pitched for the Swedish national team.
He was All-State for New Jersey as a high school senior in 2015. Holding dual citizenship, he pitched for Sweden in the 2015 B-Level European Championship. He had two no-decisions, allowing one run in four against Belarus in a game his team won, 10-9 in extra innings. He then blanked Austria for five innings but allowed four in the next two before Nicklas Melin took over. His 4.09 ERA was second on a Swedish team that won the pool to advance to the 2016 European Championship. He allowed 16 earned runs in 15 1/3 IP as a college freshman in 2016.
At the 2016 European Championship, he shut out the Great Britain national team for six innings but gave up three in the 7th (two earned) and Arvid Carlstedt took over; Sweden wound up a 9-6 victor in extra innings.
