Biographical Information

Starting pitcher Blake Schwartz has played in the Washington Nationals minor league system since 2012 (through 2014). He was taken by the club in the 17th round of the 2012 amateur draft.

He pitched for the GCL Nationals and Hagerstown Suns in 2012, going 1-3 with a 3.64 ERA in 12 starts. In 2013, he went 13-4 with a 2.51 ERA in 27 games (24 starts) between the Suns and Potomac Nationals, earning a spot on the Carolina League Mid-Season All-Star team. He began 2014 with the Harrisburg Senators, but was demoted to Potomac partway through the year.
