Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Blaine Hardy began playing in the minor leagues since 2008 and has spent time at Triple-A each year from 2010 to 2014 before making his big league debut that year.

He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 22nd round of the 2008 amateur draft and began his professional career that year.

He has had multiple seasons of note. In 2009, just his second professional campaign, he posted a 2.05 ERA with nine saves and 94 strikeouts in 92 1/3 innings over 36 games (three starts) for the Burlington Bees. The next year, he had a 2.71 mark with seven saves in 40 games (eight starts) for the Northwest Arkansas Naturals and Omaha Royals. In 2013, now in the Detroit Tigers system after being released by Kansas City, he was 8-3 with a save and 1.67 ERA in 30 games (nine starts) split between the Erie SeaWolves and Toledo Mud Hens.

Hardy made his major league debut with the Tigers on June 16, 2014, with two scoreless innings of relief against his old team, the Royals.

Hardy became head coach at Central Lakes College in 2023.
