Bjay Cooke has played in the minors and for the Australian national team.
Cooke represented Australia in the 2018 U-15 Baseball World Cup (0 for 4, BB) [1] and was signed by Oakland Athletics scout Dan Betreen in July 2022. [2] He was with Australia in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup, going 3-for-18 with a walk and a run and fielding .917. [3] He hit .256/.396/.513 for the AZL Athletics in his first pro season; the shortstop had four triples in 48 plate appearances, tying him for 7th in the Arizona Complex League in triples. He hit .193/.297/.227 in 27 games with the Perth Heat in 2022-2023, and he played 97 games with a .194/.292/.227 batting line for the Stockton Ports in 2023, fielding .934 at short. Cooke was on Australia's roster for the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship, but he didn't play any games. [4]
