Elisha Matthew "Bitsy" Mott and Ben Podolsky demonstrate the "Hook Slide" in 1948.

Bitsy Mott was the starting shortstop for much of the 1945 season for the Philadelphia Phillies. He was not much of a hitter but had good range in the field.

Mott's sister married Colonel Tom Parker, and Mott became a guard for Elvis Presley after his baseball days. He appeared in some of Elvis' movies. In later life he worked as a clown. Source:

He played professional baseball from 1939 to 1957. He managed in the minors in 1949 and 1950.
