Biographical Information[edit]
Billy Reid was one of several players from London, Ontario who were approximately the same age and came to the majors at approximately the same time. Most of them played in the American Association.
Reid played in the Association in 1883 and 1884, Bill Mountjoy was in the Association from 1883 to 1885, Jon Morrison was there in 1884 and again in 1887, and Steve Dunn was in the Union Association in 1884.
Before his major league playing career, Reid was a National League umpire for 6 games in 1882.
