Biographical Information[edit]
Billy Murray managed 18 years in the minor leagues from 1889-1906, the last 13 in the Eastern League, the ancestor of today's International League. His teams compiled a record of 1234-876. He was elected to the International League Hall of Fame in 1952. He then managed the Philadelphia Phillies from 1907 to 1909, with a record of 240-214.
Billy also played many years in the minors, often as a player-manager. He managed many years in Providence, RI, and also was a player during most of the time.
