Biographical Information[edit]

Billy Jack Wynns played in the minor leagues for seven seasons, 1948 to 1953.

In 1948, with the Midland Indians and Ballinger Cats, he hit a combined .243 with ten home runs and 19 doubles in 132 games. The next year, with the Odessa Oilers (43 G, 3 HR, .250 BA) and Borger Gassers (57 G, 8 HR, .254 BA), Wynns hit .252 with 11 home runs and 91 hits in 100 games. He hit .240 with six home runs and 25 doubles for the Longview Texans in 1950 and in 1951, he hit .274 with six home runs and 27 doubles for the Alexandria Aces (88 G, 6 HR, .289 BA) and Monroe Sports (13 G, 0 HR, .180 BA). 1952 was perhaps the best year of his career, as he hit .280 with 12 home runs, 35 doubles, 157 hits and 242 total bases in 148 games for the Texarkana Bears. He led the Big State League in games played. He wrapped up his career in 1953, playing for the Austin Pioneers and hitting .245 with only two home runs in 141 games.

Overall, Wynns hit .255 with 47 home runs, 135 doubles and 720 hits in 754 games.
