Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Warren played in 1914-15 in the Federal League, as the capstone of his pro career. He had previously played seven seasons in the minors, parts of six of them with the Oshkosh Indians.
Bill is one of five major leaguers (through 2019) born in Cairo, IL, in far southern Illinois. His first Federal League team, the 1914 Indianapolis Hoosiers, won the pennant. The team then moved east and became the 1915 Newark Pepper. Bill's pro career ended abruptly during the game on May 23, 1915, when he broke a finger.
