History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The Indianapolis Hoosiers won their final seven games of the 1914 season and captured the Federal League pennant over the Chicago Whales on the season's final day. Outfielder Benny Kauff led the league with a .370 batting average, 211 hits, 120 runs scored, and 75 stolen bases. Four other regulars hit over .300. Pitcher Cy Falkenberg anchored the pitching staff with 25 wins. However, due to financial troubles, the club was forced to sell Kauff to the Brooklyn Tip-Tops following the season, and the team reloacted to Newark, NJ for the 1915 season.
