Biographical Information[edit]

"The Giants were badly crippled, and were compelled to put in Swabach (sic) and Casey (sic, actually Roger Carey), of the reserve team. Swabach did fairly well, and may yet make a first-class pitcher." - from Sporting Life, July 20, 1887

Bill Swarback pitched two games for the 1887 Giants. He was 19 years old at the time, older only than John Roach, who pitched once that year for the Giants.
