Biographical Information[edit]
Bill Spaeter played in the minor leagues on-and-off from 1946 to 1956. Available records indicate he had as many as 135 hits and 12 home runs in a campaign. In 1948, while with the Roanoke Red Sox, he led the Piedmont League in runs scored with 100. He had been a Navy pilot during World War II. His brother Al Spaeter also played pro ball.
