Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Roman played for the Detroit Tigers in 1964 and 1965. While he did a lot of pinch-hitting, in the field he was a first baseman. He hit a home run in his first major league game, off Jim Bouton of the New York Yankees.

Roman played six years in the minors, showing moderate power and hitting an overall .290. He was in the Detroit Tigers organization except for part of 1965, when he was in the New York Yankees organization.
