Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Oster is the most recent player from New York University to come to the major leagues. He pitched in eight games with the Philadelphia Athletics in 1954. He struck out Ted Williams the first time he faced him.

He was with the Liverpool Larrupers, a semi-pro team based in Nova Scotia, in 1953, and was apparently nicknamed "Wild Bill".
