Biographical Information[edit]
Shady Bill Leith pitched two innings for the Washington Senators in 1899. Sporting Life said he was a find by Buck Freeman, but didn't say from where.
Bill also played at least six years in the minors. In 1906, with the Lawrence Colts, he was 13-11 at age 33.
Bill's grandson, also named Bill Leith, has been honored for his large amount of activity in youth baseball in both New York and Arizona [1].
