Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Bill DiBenedetto played two seasons in the minor leagues, in 1951 and 1952, both in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization. With the Hornell Dodgers of the PONY League in 1951, he went 4-3, 5.57 in 13 games and with the Hazard Bombers of the Mountain States League in 1952, he was 9-4, 4.28.
He had some pretty amazing walk numbers, although not in a good way: he walked 114 batters in just 63 innings his first year and 153 in 124 innings the second. On July 3, 1951, he set a new all-time record by walking 21 batters in a 5-1 loss to the Corning A's. He did struck out 114 for Hazard.
