Biographical Information[edit]

Bill Dailey pitched in excellent fashion for the first three of his four major league seasons. He had an exceptionally good performance for the Minnesota Twins in 1963, when he went 6-3, 1.99 with 21 saves in 66 games. He then had arm pain in 1964 and his major league career soon ended.

Dailey was a star at a young age, leading the 1955 Three-I League in ERA with a 2.52. Teammate Mudcat Grant went 19-3 while Dailey went 17-4. He played his first season for the Sherbrooke Indians in 1953.

With the Twins, he was four years older than Jim Kaat and Tony Oliva, and one year older than Harmon Killebrew.
