Biographical Information[edit]
His first name was Frederick, but he became known as Bill Clay, a player who appeared in three major league games for the Philadelphia Phillies in 1902. He got two hits and had one RBI, while playing left field.
Bill played at least 16 seasons in the pros, mostly in the Tri-State League, managing in 1915. He also played at least once for a prominent team in York, PA called the Penn Park team. [1]
