Biographical Information[edit]
Bottenus had a long minor league career, beginning in 1888 with the Toledo Maumees of the Tri-State League and ending in 1907 with the Braddock Infants of the Pennsylvania-Ohio-Maryland League. Along the way he played for nearly 30 different teams. On May 12, 1895 while with the Buffalo Bisons of the Eastern League, he hit four home runs in one game against the Wilkes-Barre Coal Barons.
His brother, Ralph Bottenus had a short-lived minor league career.
