Biographical Information

Bill Barrett played one game in the National Association in each of 1871, 1872 and 1873. He actually umpired more games than he played - four - three in 1872 and one in 1874. There is information pointing out that he played amateur baseball in Baltimore, MD around that time, and that he was likely from that city. However, little else is known about him.

There is also a John Barrett who played several games for Brooklyn in 1872.
