Biographical information[edit]

Bienvenido Cedeno is a pitcher who is perhaps most notable for being on Panama's roster for the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He made two appearances in that World Baseball Classic, allowing seven hits in 3 2/3 innings of work, posting a 4.91 ERA. He also played for Panama in the 1994 Baseball World Cup (1-0, 3.45 as their most-used hurler with 15 2/3 IP, 3 2/3 more than Elpidio Pinto; he beat Puerto Rico) and 1997 Central American Games, when they won the Gold Medal. In the 1998 Baseball World Cup, he led Panama with a 1.93 ERA (.32 ahead of Franklin Rodriguez) and got their lone save, wrapping up Rodriguez's 5-4 win over South Africa. He also represented Panama in the 2001 Bolivarian Games, when they got another Gold. He allowed four unearned runs over three innings in the 2001 Baseball World Cup.
