Biographical Information[edit]
Bert Hamric had two cups of coffee in the major leagues, first with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1955 and second with the Baltimore Orioles in 1958. His claim to fame was his first and only major league base hit at age 30 with Baltimore, while striking out 6 times in only 8 at-bats. A pitcher-turned-outfielder in the minor leagues, he never played the field in the majors, but in spite of his short career, twice was featured on a baseball card in the main Topps set, in 1955 and 1958. His professional baseball career ended in 1961 in the Kansas City Athletics chain.
