Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Bernie "Bud" Hungling played three years in the majors, getting most of his at-bats with the 1922 Brooklyn Robins.

The first string catcher that year was Hank DeBerry.

Hungling played in a total of 51 ML games. He never had more than one RBI in a game except on April 26, 1922 when he drove in six while playing for Brooklyn against the Boston Braves. That game accounted for 40% of Hungling's career RBI's.

Bud played from 1916-32 in the minors, hitting over .300 several times. Eight of those seasons were spent in the Texas League.
