Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Bernie Anderson played in the Detroit Tigers system from 1985 to 1989. He peaked at Double-A.

He batted .294/.379/.427 with 31 walks to just 27 strikeouts in 62 games for the Bristol Tigers his first year, then had 10 triples, 10 steals and 71 BBs to 55 Ks for the Lakeland Tigers in 1986. 1987 was his career year, as he batted .318/.473/.422 with 17 stolen bases, 114 walks (to 35 Ks) and 65 runs scored in 118 games with Lakeland. He made the Florida State League All-Star team that year. He slipped to .215 (with 17 steals) in 1988 and .171 in 1989 to wrap up his career. Overall, Anderson hit .260/.374/.350 with 12 home runs, 177 RBI, 52 stolen bases, 272 walks and 174 strikeouts in 441 games over 5 seasons.
