Biographical Information[edit]

The brother of Chino Cadahia and cousin of Mike Cadahia, catcher Benny Cadahia was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the fifth round of the 1980 amateur draft and played seven seasons in the minor leagues. He began his career with the 1980 GCL Royals Blue and batted .208/~.415/.329. He hit .220 the next year for the Charleston Royals then followed with a .239 year for the Fort Myers Royals. In 1984, he batted .279/~.385/.372 for Fort Myers. In '85, Cadahia hit .205/~.303/.351 with the Salem Redbirds. He concluded his playing career with his best year, batting .246/~.357/.392 as a member of the Tulsa Drillers.

As of 2006, he is the bullpen catcher of the Chicago Cubs.
