Biographical Information

Pitcher Ben Hernandez was taken by the Kansas City Royals in the 2nd round, 41st overall, of the 2020 amateur draft; his signing bonus was $1,450,000. He began his professional career in 2021, going 1-2 with a 4.33 ERA in 12 starts between the Columbia Fireflies and ACL Royals Gold that year. He began 2022 with Columbia. He was named after David Ben-Gurion, the first prime minister of Israel.
