Biographical Information[edit]

Bart Sabel made his debut in the Hoofdklasse in 2006 with the Konica Minolta Pioniers. He was 1 for 7 with a walk in 3 games at catcher. He played for the Netherlands in the 2006 World Junior Championship. In 2007, he hit .167/.355/.208 with 10 strikeouts in 24 at-bats, now playing mostly outfield with Mark Duursma holding down catching duties. He did not play in the 2007 Holland Series.

Sabel hit .222/.317/.250 as a utility man for the Pioniers in 2008. In 2009, he enrolled at Cochise College. He spent his summer back with the Pioniers, batting .224/.281/.328 as a backup 3B-OF. In the 2009 Holland Series, he was 2 for 9 with a walk. His highlight of the Series was a home run off former AA hurler Diegomar Markwell, a longtime star of the Dutch national team.
