BR Bullpen talk:Team Layout
There should be a header at the top of the page, followed by a lead section, a history section, and yearly record section, and famous alumni section.
What should be part of the header; right now it has the logo, location, league, affiliation, and ballpark. Is there anything missing?
What table column headings should be included in the yearly records? Some have Year, Record, Finish (Placing), Manager, Playoffs while others have League, Affiliation as well. I think we should follow the Indianapolis Indians format of Year, League, Record, Finish, Manager, Postseason, Affiliation even if the team only had one league or affiliation. --MichaelEng 00:45, 6 September 2006 (EDT)
I haven't been putting the league and affiliation in the yearly records simply because it is reflected in the header section. I'll go with the consensus though. --Just me 01:01, 6 September 2006 (EDT)
Some pages now have a Famous Alumni section. I think "Notable Players" would be better wording, but like the concept. Hopefully all pages will have that section as well. For MLB and NPB teams, we have Franchise Players instead, which makes sense for clubs like that. - --Mischa 05:44, 6 September 2006 (EDT)
Do we really need a yearly record section for teams in the majors that have annual summaries as separate pages? An annual record for the Braves would be very clunky indeed. --Roger 10:07, 6 September 2006 (EDT)
- I should have been more explicit that the discussion was intended for minor league teams, not major league teams. --MichaelEng 00:53, 7 September 2006 (EDT)
