People who satisfy at least one of the items below generally merit their own articles:

  • played professional baseball
  • played baseball for a national team in adult international competetion
  • was an owner of a professional baseball club
  • was an front office executive for a professional baseball club
  • was a manager of a professional baseball club
  • was a scout for a professional baseball club (or league)
  • was an umpire for a professional baseball league
  • was a league president (or equivalent) of a professional baseball league
  • is a researcher whose work is citied by more than X articles
  • was a United States President after 1860
  • authors who have published more than one noteworthy book
  • collegiate coaches who have taken a team to the NCAA Division-I College World Series
  • is in any one of the following Halls of Fame:
    • Baseball Reliquary
    • Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame
    • Cuban Baseball Hall of Fame
    • Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum (United States)
    • Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame
    • Salón de la Fama (Mexico)
    • Salón de la Fama (Venezuela)
  • winners of any one of the awards listed in Category:Awards, with the exception of the All-American Award
  • persons drafted in the first round of a Major League Baseball draft

People who satisfy at least one of the items below may merit their own articles based on a case-by-case basis:

  • collegiate players
  • collegiate coaches
  • persons drafted by professional clubs
  • fans of baseball
  • political figures
  • writers
  • authors

  • a non-fiction book that is cited as a reference or source
