Aviano is in northeastern Italy, about 25 miles southeast of the border with Austria. The site of a NATO Air Base, it sent a team to the 1979 Little League World Series, the first "Italian" entry in a Little League World Series. Otherwise, it is not notable in Italian baseball history.
