Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Austin Kitchen was originally signed by the Colorado Rockies organization as an amateur free agent on April 20, 2021.
He was called up to the big leagues by the Rockies on June 22, 2024, only to be designated for assignment the next day (June 23rd) without appearing in a ballgame. He had been assigned uniform #64. The day following THAT (June 24th), he was claimed on waivers by the Miami Marlins, who assigned him to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. Almost exactly a month later, on July 26th, the Marlins called him up to the big leagues, and he made 4 appearances - 1 as a starter and 3 out of the bullpen. He was sent back to AAA Jacksonville on August 7th, and designated for assignment exactly a month later, on September 7th. He was claimed by the Seattle Mariners, who sent him to their own AAA club, the Tacoma Rainiers. He was added to the M's big league roster after the regular season ended.
