Audie Núñez pitched for Spain in the 2008 Final Olympic Qualification Tournament. He allowed three runs in 1 2/3 innings against Taiwan. Starting against South Africa, he gave up one run in 3 2/3 innings but walked three before leaving in favor of Remigio Leal. He was 1-0 with 2 saves and a 2.76 ERA in nine games for the Marlins Puerto Cruz; he walked 12 in 16 1/3 IP. He tossed two shutout innings in the 2008 European Cup in Grosseto. In the 2009 European Cup's Nettuno phase, Audie went 0-1 with a 1.69 ERA. He gave up just five hits in 10 2/3 IP and led the event with 17 strikeouts.
