Auburn Bouleys

From BR Bullpen

When the Smiths Falls Beavers folded in 1938, a group from Auburn, NY led by William Bouley purchased the team and renamed them the Auburn Bouleys. The attendance for the Canadian-American League team was a weak 16,178 (last in the league) and the Bouleys were 49-68-4 under manager John Cimpi, finishing 7th in the 8-team league. Unaffiliated with any major league team, they played their games in Falcon Park. Third baseman Bill Homan (.389/~.466/.621, 101 runs, 113 RBI) was the club's only All-Star, while outfielder Charles Harig (.385/~.447/.648, 20 HR, 109 RBI) led the league in average (presumably Homan did not qualify in appearances) and outfield assists (21). Amby McConnell bought the team and moved them to Utica, NY, where they became the Utica Braves.
