Atsuyoshi Otake is a college coach.

Otake was drafted by the Kintetsu Buffaloes in the third round of the 1976 draft but opted for college. After college, he was undrafted and played in the industrial leagues (Nippon Steel). He went 1 for 16 with four walks for the Japanese national team in the 1988 Baseball World Cup, splitting catching duties with future superstar Atsuya Furuta. He also formed the catching duo with Furuta in the 1988 Olympics. Japan finished second but baseball was not a medal event that year. Otake retired as a player in 1989 and managed Nippon Steel from 1994-2000. He coached for Japan in the 2001 Asian Championship (Japan won Bronze) and 2001 Baseball World Cup. He then became head coach at Waseda University in 2005. He coached for Japan in the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week and 2010 World University Championship (Japan won the Bronze). He is known as a strict disciplinarian.
