Biographical Information[edit]

Atsushi Endo pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Endo was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the fifth round of the 2017 NPB draft, and he received a 30 million yen signing bonus.[1] He stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues for the entire 2018 season, and he joined their bullpen in 2019. Endo notched his first career save on August 24, and he broke Takeru Imamura's record to become the youngest player to collect a hold in the Carp's history.[2] He ended up having a 3.16 ERA in 34 appearances in 2019. The Carp then turned him into a starter in 2020, and he was 5-6 with a 3.87 ERA. He also led the Central League with 52 walks.

The Tsuchiura native struggled in 2021, so he only pitched 2 games with the big club; his ERA was 6.16 in 20 games in the ni-gun. He bounced back in 2022, and he was 4-7 with a 3.59 ERA. However, he suffered from a left knee injury in 2023, so he only started 8 games with a 1-5 record and a 4.39 ERA.

Endo's repertoire featured a fastball, slider, forkball and a curveball.
