Biographical Information[edit]

Takeru Imamura has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Imamura won the spring Koshien in high school in 2009. He was drafted by the Hiroshima Carp in the first round of the 2009 NPB draft. He allowed 8 runs (7 earned) and 7 hits in 4 innings for the big club in 2010, losing his lone decision. In 2011, he was a frequent reliever for Hiroshima with 54 appearances. He was 3-8 with two saves and a 4.69 ERA. He tied for third in the Central League with six wild pitches. He got one of the 249 votes for the 2011 Central League Rookie of the Year Award, placing him 5th.

His fastball has been timed at 96 mph and he compliments it with a slider and a forkball.
