Arthur S. Riggs
Biographical Information[edit]
Arthur Riggs caught and managed in the minors in the Deadball Era.
He hit .247 for the 1904 Leavenworth Orioles. He managed the Camden Ouachitas for part of 1906. In 1908, he was with the Hot Springs Vaporites and Argenta Shamrocks (a combined .198) and also managed for both teams. In '09, he hit .276 as player-manager of the Newport Pearl Diggers and also managed the Vaporites for a period. He batted .207 and slugged .305 in 25 games for the 1910 El Reno Packers and also served as their skipper. He managed the 1912 Talladega Highlanders, 1913 Selma Centralites, 1914 Selma River Rats and 1922 Greeneville Burley Cubs. He also umpired in the Appalachian League in 1913.
