Biographical Information[edit]

Utility player Art Miles was the 10th overall pick of the 1975 amateur draft, taken between future manager Clint Hurdle and pitcher Chris Knapp. He was selected by the Montreal Expos.

He played three years in the minor leagues, never advancing beyond Single-A. Though he showed good speed - he managed as many as 21 swipes in a season - his batting average was lacking at .229 in 942 at-bats.

His career ended after he broke his neck diving into shallow water while celebrating the West Palm Beach Expos's Florida State League win in 1977.
