Biographical Information[edit]

Art Mazmanian played on the 1948 National Championship team at USC. He was an All-American pick at second base that year. He played in the minors from 1949 to 1954, primarily in the New York Yankees chain, spending 2½ seasons with the Kansas City Blues.

Mazmanian managed 18 years in the minors and coached at Mt. San Antonio College for 31 years (1968-1998), compiling a record of 730-418. The field on the campus of Mt.SAC was renamed in his honor. He also coached varsity baseball at his alma mater, Dorsey High School in the mid-1960s. Mazmanian was an assistant coach for Rod Dedeaux at the 1984 Olympics. Sparky Anderson named Mazmanian in his Hall of Fame speech.
